Rocky's Story

Blythe Wood Works is featuring this Pit Bull for a reason. We want our customers to know that there is more to us than just building dog houses...We truly love and care for dogs. It is this kind of care that we put into designing and assembling each and every dog and cat home in our product line.

This is "Rocky" our current "resident rescue." We named him Rocky because he looked like a piece of granite when we found him. Plus, we figured that he must have been a survivor like Rocky Balboa because he was able to wag his tail and smile at us the day we found him. However, he is definitely not a fighter - all he wants to do is play and be loved on. As Micheal Jackson would say, "I'm a lover not a fighter" - that is our Rocky's motto.

We figured he was about a year old when we found him. He weighed 30 lbs and now weighs 67 lbs after 2 months of good eating.

Rocky had the red mange and heartworms. But as you can see, he is well on his way to overcoming all of his health problems.

He learned to sit after about 4 tries. He even barks to let us know when he needs to go "busy busy." He is such a good dog. He is so good because he knows he is living the good life now and he appreciates what we have done.

He is worth the money and time that we have invested in him. He makes us laugh and feel good about being alive.

So, if you ever see a poor creature like Rocky, and you feel the urge to be a rescuer - don' hesitate. It is a joyous experience. Most veterinarians will understand the rescuers situation and be willing to help out with nominal fees.

We thank you for stopping by our website. We hope you enjoyed your visit.
